How is your hardware actually different from the imported brands?

Materials and tolerances. Our cabinets are AISI 304 stainless as standard and AISI 316 marine-grade for sanitary / coastal builds, not painted carbon steel rebadged as "stainless-look." Drive systems are sealed brushless DC, and tripod mechanisms are rated to an MCBF of 10 million cycles. Glass is 10mm tempered, with an optional laminated upgrade for security zones. Every unit is acceptance-tested under our ISO 9001 process before it ships: no statistical sampling, every serial number gets the same protocol. We'd rather slip a delivery by a week than ship a unit that hasn't passed.

Why should I trust an in-house engineering team over a name brand?

Accepted Answer

Because the engineering is the brand. Most US-market "name brand" turnstiles are rebadged OEM hardware from one of three Asian factories: same parts, same firmware, just a US-printed faceplate. We design the mechanics, write the firmware, and assemble the units ourselves. When you have an integration question, you get the engineer who wrote the code.

What testing and certifications back the hardware?

ISO 9001 quality system, IP54 standard cabinets (IP65 for outdoor and sanitary lines, validated under direct-washdown protocols), UL-listed electrical components, FCC-compliant control electronics, ADA 2010 accessibility on speed-gate and swing-gate configurations, and integration with PIV/CAC-capable readers for federal work. Documentation is available on request for procurement and compliance reviews.

Can you integrate with our existing access-control system?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We integrate with every major panel: HID, ASSA ABLOY, LenelS2, Genetec, Honeywell, and Software House. Wire protocols supported are Wiegand, OSDP, RS-485, TCP/IP, and our REST API. We've shipped installs running on all of them; the integration kit is included in the standard quote, you don't pay for protocol-specific firmware.

What about credentials: readers, biometrics, mobile, multi-factor?

Accepted Answer

All of the above. RFID and proximity cards through HID and Allegion readers; mobile credentials via HID Mobile Access, Apple Wallet, and Google Wallet; biometrics (face, fingerprint, palm vein, iris) through HID, Suprema, and IDEMIA; QR/barcode for transit and ticketing; PIN entry; and multi-factor combinations enforced at the lane (e.g. card + PIN, or biometric + mobile credential, with configurable timeout). For federal work we integrate PIV/CAC-capable readers.

Can you do custom finishes, dimensions, or workflows?

Accepted Answer

Custom finishes: any RAL color powder coat, brushed / polished / satin / mirror stainless, bronze, brass, wood-veneer cladding, stone cladding, custom glass tints (clear / frost / smoke / bronze) with optional etched logos. Custom dimensions: lane widths from standard 22" up to ADA 36"+, custom passage heights, recessed-mount configurations. Custom workflows: mantrap interlock, two-person integrity, anti-passback, handwash / gowning interlock for cleanrooms, panic-button lockdown, BMS hooks via BACnet/Modbus, and SIEM audit-log export. If you can spec it on a drawing, we've probably already built it.

Question 7

What does the 5-year warranty actually cover?

Accepted Answer

Motors, control electronics, sensors, structural metalwork, and the IP-rated cabinet seals on outdoor / sanitary lines. Glass panels are covered against manufacturing defects (not impact damage) for the same period. Warranty includes commissioning and is honored regardless of which integrator installs the system.

What does service actually look like at year 5 of an install?

Same engineering team, same Brooklyn parts inventory. Spare parts ship same-day under emergency-replacement contracts; standard RMAs ship next business day. Our optional 24/7 emergency contract gets a US-based on-call engineer for after-hours incidents. We support discontinued models (we keep the tooling and stock the components); customers running 15-year-old DT 100 tripods still order replacement rotors from us.

What happens if my project hits a snag mid-install?

Same engineers who designed the unit own the support escalation. Spare parts ship same-day from our Brooklyn inventory; we don't tell you to wait six weeks for a container. If a unit fails commissioning, we replace it under warranty without an RMA fight.

Are you actually cheaper than buying direct from overseas?

Not on hardware sticker price; direct-from-Asia is always lowest upfront. We're cheaper on total landed cost once you factor in container freight, customs, broker fees, 12–16 week lead-time financing, MOQ commitments, and the fact that most direct buyers end up paying twice for the third of units that fail commissioning. What does "15–25% below imported" actually mean for a real project?
