BROOKLYN · NY2000
Started as a specialized engineering shop. Now a vertically integrated manufacturer running our own assembly facility.
Gatestile is a vertically integrated manufacturer: design, build, install, maintain. Every product on this site is engineered in-house and US-assembled at our Brooklyn facility. We're a manufacturer, not a reseller. No outsourced support. The same six people who run engineering are the ones who answer the phone.
Our story
Gatestile began in 2000 as a specialized engineering shop building access systems for institutional and religious facilities. Over two decades, we expanded into commercial turnstiles, optical speed gates, mantrap rotating drums, and the broader access-control catalog you see on this site today.
What didn't change is the operating model. We design every product in-house. We run our own assembly facility in Brooklyn. Our commissioning crews fly out for projects that need them. Our support engineers answer the phone when an install has a Friday-afternoon issue.
The result is the thing security integrators and facility managers actually want: short lead times, real documentation, US-based parts inventory, and an engineer on the other end of the email.

The journey
From a single-product institutional-access shop to a vertically integrated manufacturer running its own assembly facility in Brooklyn.
2000
Engineering operation launches with a focus on specialized access systems for institutional and religious facilities. First custom mikveh turnstile delivered the same year.
2007
Product line expands into commercial tripod turnstiles and waist-high security barriers. First multi-lane stadium installation completed.
2014
Optical speed-gate line launches, the first US-engineered glass turnstile platform built around brushless drives and multi-beam tailgate detection.
2018
6103 Strickland Ave opens as the primary US assembly and commissioning facility, cutting lead times to weeks instead of the 12–16 week container waits typical of fully-imported equipment.
2022
Mantrap-grade glass rotating turnstile platform ships, helping data-center and finance teams meet their SOC 2 / NIST 800-53 physical-access-control requirements.
Today
Seven product lines, 53 models, an ISO 9001 quality system, and a 5-year hardware warranty across the catalog.
Vertically integrated
Most turnstile companies design, license, import, drop-ship, and hand off to a third-party installer. We keep every stage in-house, which is why specs, lead times, and warranty service hold together when a project goes sideways.
Mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineered in-house, not licensed from an OEM. Every spec sheet, BIM file, and integration profile traces back to our own engineering team.
Sheet-metal fabrication, powder coat, glass, drive assemblies, and electronics integration all happen on our own assembly floors. No outsourced final assembly.
Factory-trained commissioning crews on every project, or we train your preferred integrator on the hardware at no charge. Same SLA either way.
US-based support engineers and a Brooklyn-stocked spare parts inventory. Field-replaceable components ship same-day under emergency-replacement contracts.
Where we operate
US final assembly in Brooklyn, with mechanical and firmware R&D and component manufacturing in Europe and Israel. Every product on this site routes through our Brooklyn assembly facility before it ships to a North-American buyer.
HQ · Final assembly · Commissioning
Primary US assembly facility. Final assembly, integration, and shipping for every domestic project.
Mechanical R&D · Drive systems
Mechanical engineering and drive-system manufacturing for the optical and full-height product lines.
Firmware · Control logic
Firmware, control-board manufacturing, and R&D for biometric and mantrap product lines.
By the numbers
“We've worked with three turnstile suppliers in the last decade. Gatestile is the only one where engineering, manufacturing, and field service all answer to the same phone number, and it shows on every install.”
The team
No outsourced sales reps, no offshore support tier. The same six people own engineering, manufacturing, and field execution, and you can reach any of them directly.

Founder
Mechanical engineering
Founded the engineering operation in 2000. Two decades of access-control mechanical design across institutional, commercial, and high-security applications.

Chief Executive Officer
Strategy & growth
Leads US and European operations and the partner network. Background in industrial-product commercialization and B2B GTM.

Head of Engineering
Product development
Owns the product roadmap across 53 active models, from tripod mechanics to optical-gate firmware to mantrap rotating-drum control logic.

Field Operations Manager
Installation & commissioning
Runs nationwide installation and commissioning. Direct line for any GC, integrator, or facility contact running an active deployment.

Operations Coordinator
Order fulfillment
Coordinates order-to-delivery across factories. The person who knows where every active project sits in the production queue.

Factory Manager
Manufacturing & QC
Manages day-to-day production and quality control on the Brooklyn assembly floor. ISO 9001 process owner.
How we operate
These aren't poster slogans. They're the trade-offs we'd rather make than the alternative, and they're why our service story holds up at year five of an install.
ISO 9001 process control on every unit. We'd rather slip a delivery by a week than ship a unit that hasn't passed acceptance.
Every quote, every install plan, every support ticket is reviewed by an engineer, not handed to a sales rep with a brochure.
No tiered support queues. The same six people who own engineering and operations are the ones who answer the phone.
AISI 304 / 316 stainless, brushless drives, field-replaceable everything. Tripod mechanisms rated to an MCBF of 10,000,000 cycles.
Compliance & credentials
Federal, healthcare, and Class A office buyers need documentation, not marketing copy. Here's what we provide on request.
Process certification covering design, manufacturing, and service. Audit documentation provided to enterprise procurement teams on request.
We provide product documentation and country-of-origin information for procurement review. Contact us to confirm eligibility for your specific contract.
Speed gates and swing gates configured for 36"+ clear passage, low-force operation, and timing per the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
Outdoor and washdown-rated cabinets across the catalog. IP65 sanitary lines built for washdown and hygiene-sensitive environments.
UL-listed electrical components throughout. Integrates with PIV/CAC-capable readers for federal credentialing workflows.
Five years on motors, control electronics, sensors, and structural metalwork, covered regardless of which integrator installs the system.
Trusted by industry leaders

Manufacturer. We design every product in-house and run our own metal-fab and assembly lines: primary US assembly in Brooklyn, plus engineering and component manufacturing in Europe and Israel. There is no third-party OEM behind us.
Our parent engineering operation was founded in 2000, originally building specialized access systems for institutional and religious facilities. We expanded into commercial turnstiles and speed gates in the mid-2000s and now ship across the US, Europe, and the Middle East.
Our US headquarters and primary North-American factory are at 6103 Strickland Ave, Brooklyn, NY. Engineering, R&D, and component manufacturing also operate out of facilities in Europe and Israel.
